Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy

Dry Eyes: FDA-Approved IPL Treatment
If you suffer from gritty, sore, or watery eyes, you may be experiencing Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), the leading cause of dry eye disease. While eye drops can provide temporary moisture, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy targets the underlying cause of the condition to provide longer-lasting comfort.

The Gold Standard: Lumenis Technology
We are proud to offer treatment using the OptiLight by Lumenis, a system created by world leaders in light-based therapy. Lumenis developed the first and only IPL technology to receive FDA approval specifically for the management of dry eye disease.
By choosing our clinic, you are accessing advanced, clinically proven technology designed to break the cycle of inflammation and support long-term eye health.

How IPL Works for Your Eyes
Targets inflammation
The light energy helps reduce abnormal blood vessels that leak inflammatory markers into the eyelids.

Restores oil flow
Gentle heat liquefies thickened oils trapped in the Meibomian glands, allowing your natural tear oil to flow more freely again.

Eliminates triggers
The treatment helps reduce bacteria and Demodex mites that contribute to blepharitis.

Reduces drop dependency
By improving the quality of your own tears, many patients find they can significantly reduce their reliance on artificial lubricants.

What to Expect During Your Visit
The procedure is quick, safe, and requires no downtime.
  1. Preparation
Cooling gel and protective eye shields are applied.
  2. The procedure
The AcuPulse device delivers precise light pulses to the skin around the eyelids. You may feel a mild flicking or warm sensation.
  3. Gland expression
After the light therapy, our specialist gently expresses the glands to clear the softened oils.
  4. Recovery
You can return to normal activities immediately. We recommend wearing SPF 50 sun protection for five days following your session.

Treatment Plans and Investment
IPL is a cumulative treatment, meaning results build over time. For the best clinical outcome, we recommend an initial course of four sessions to restore healthy function of the oil glands.

These treatments are usually spaced two to four weeks apart. Once the initial course is complete, a single maintenance session every six to twelve months is advised to help maintain your results
