What our prices include, how to change or cancel an appointment, and your legal right to cancel.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
These terms apply to consultations, treatment and procedures provided by Vale Eye Surgeons, the trading name of Vale Eye Surgeons Limited, a private limited company registered in Wales with company number 13891633. Our registered office is 7 Ash Tree Court, Woodsy Close, Pontprennau, Cardiff CF23 8RW. We are registered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales.
You can reach us by email at [email protected], by phone or text on 07979 825075, or in writing at Vale Eye Surgeons, 10a High Street, Cowbridge, CF71 7AG. Email is the quickest way to reach us and we aim to reply within one working day.
We provide private ophthalmic consultations, diagnostic assessment, and medical, surgical and cosmetic eye treatment, delivered by consultant ophthalmic surgeons. Clinics are held in Cowbridge and at Cardiff Gate. Surgical procedures are carried out at a private hospital, and the hospital is a separate provider with its own terms and its own charges.
Any treatment we recommend depends on a clinical assessment. We cannot confirm that a procedure is suitable for you, or confirm its final cost, until you have been assessed by one of our surgeons. Nothing on this website is a diagnosis, a recommendation of treatment, or a guarantee of any particular outcome.
The prices shown on our services page are guide prices and are the amounts a typical patient pays. Vale Eye Surgeons Limited is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our fees.
A surgical price quoted by us covers our surgeon's fee for the procedure and the routine post-operative reviews that form part of that episode of care. It does not include:
Before you commit to any procedure we will give you a written quotation setting out the total you will pay to us, what it covers, and which charges will come from the hospital instead. If you are insured, we will tell you what we expect your insurer to cover and what you are likely to pay yourself. Please ask us for this in writing if you have not been given it.
We accept debit and credit cards and bank transfer. We do not take a deposit to hold an appointment. Payment for a procedure is due on the day, unless we have agreed something different with you in writing or your insurer is settling the account directly. If your insurer declines all or part of a claim, the balance remains payable by you.
If you need to move or cancel an appointment, please tell us as soon as you can by phone, text or email. There is no charge if you give us at least 24 hours' notice. We do not currently charge for late cancellations or missed appointments, but appointments are limited and telling us early means we can offer the slot to someone else.
If we have to change or cancel your appointment, we will contact you as quickly as possible, explain why, and offer you the earliest suitable alternative. If we cancel a procedure you have already paid for and cannot offer you an acceptable alternative, we will refund you in full.
Where you book and agree to treatment without meeting us in person, for example over the phone, by email, through this website or in a video consultation, that is a distance contract. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract, without giving a reason.
If you agree to treatment in person at one of our clinics, this statutory 14 day right does not apply, because that is an on-premises contract. Our own cancellation arrangements in section 5 still apply either way.
Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel, by email to [email protected], by phone or text on 07979 825075, or by writing to Vale Eye Surgeons, 10a High Street, Cowbridge, CF71 7AG. Giving your name, the date of your appointment and the treatment concerned helps us act quickly. We will acknowledge your cancellation and refund any payment due within 14 days of being told.
Clinically, waiting 14 days is often not in your interest, and many patients want to be seen sooner. We can treat you within the 14 day period if you expressly ask us to. If you do, we will confirm that request in writing, and you should know that once the treatment has been fully provided you lose the right to cancel it. If you cancel after treatment has started but before it is complete, you will be charged a proportionate amount for what has already been provided.
Please tell us. Our complaints policy explains how to raise a concern, how we will handle it, and where you can take it if you are not satisfied with our response. Raising a concern does not affect your care, and we will never ask you to withdraw a review or a complaint as a condition of resolving it.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to services carried out with reasonable care and skill, or any other rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our surgeons are registered medical practitioners with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom and hold professional indemnity cover appropriate to their practice, covering the United Kingdom. Details of the cover, including the provider, are available on request.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you can bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. The terms that apply to you are the ones published when you booked. We will give you the current version in writing before you commit to a procedure, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
